In the years since his extremist judges gutted the right to bodily autonomy, Trump has continued to encroach on reproductive health care at every turn
LANSING — Today is the third anniversary of the Dobbs v. Jackson decision, where Donald Trump’s handpicked Supreme Court justices ripped away women’s recognized right to make decisions about their own bodies. Dobbs paved the way for Trump and his Republican cronies to attack reproductive health, enact abortion bans nationwide, and force clinics to close by cutting federal funding.
On the third anniversary of the Dobbs ruling, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Curtis Hertel released the following statement:
“Three years ago today, Trump’s extremist Supreme Court justices made good on Republicans’ decades-long quest to rip away women’s reproductive freedoms and drag our state and our country back decades.
“Now, Trump and his Republican minions like John James and Tom Barrett are following the Project 2025 blueprint and sneaking a backdoor abortion ban into their dangerous budget bill, risking thousands of women’s lives every day as they are denied access to basic health care. Bottom line, Michiganders deserve so much better than these feckless cowards who call themselves representatives while endangering countless lives with their cruel anti-abortion agenda.”
