Conspiracy theorist Tudor Dixon was just endorsed by disgraced former Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos’ family, further proof of just how radical her wrong-for-Michigan agenda is.
Meddling in losing elections is a multi-generational hobby for the DeVos’. Most recently, they formed a special interest super PAC to bankroll over $7 million for John James’ failed 2020 campaign.
Dixon earned her endorsement the old-fashioned way, by pushing policy after policy that actively harms Michigan families. So far, she has criticized major job-creating investments in Michigan’s economy, used outlandish conspiracy theories to support her pledge to force pregnancy on women even when they are victims of rape and incest, and referred to bipartisan efforts to keep fixing our infrastructure as “fake.”
And in the case of Betsy’s chief pet project, Dixon has been one of the most vocal gubernatorial candidates pledging to decimate public education funding by any means necessary.
Last year, she voiced her support for “the latest effort by legislative Republicans to create a school voucher system in Michigan” and vowed to sign legislation to privatize education and siphon up to $500 million annually from public schools into law as governor.
Dixon also announced that repealing Michigan’s constitutional ban on using public money for private education was a top priority for her campaign. That would then allow her to implement her disastrous voucher plan to strip funding from public schools.
MDP Spokesperson Rodericka Applewhaite issued the following statement:
“Conspiracy theorist and wrong-for-Michigan radical Tudor Dixon has already shown us that she stands against attracting massive job creators to our state, protecting abortion access for Michigan women and families, continuing to fix our damn roads and bridges, and ensuring that our elections remain free and fair. It’s no wonder her harmful agenda has gotten the attention of the DeVos’, who have always taken interest in whatever candidate can promise to deliver for them with no regard to the harm done to Michigan’s working families. Michiganders will have no trouble seeing through it, no matter how many millions they throw at Dixon.”
