What You’ll Hear at GOP Convention: Tudor Dixon Shouldering More Baseless Lies About the Entire Electoral Process

Ahead of this weekend’s Michigan Republican Party convention, which is all but guaranteed to feature fierce intraparty battles over which candidates should make it onto the ballot, the Michigan Democratic Party is holding Tudor Dixon accountable for the disinformation she’s embraced in order to justify her extreme and harmful policies.

The special interest candidate and election conspiracy theorist is actively fundraising off of lies about 2020’s outcome and has yet to cross a claim too outlandish for her to parrot.

Asked yes or no on the question of if Donald Trump won the 2020 election in Michigan, Dixon responded “yes” during a primary debate. And when asked to raise her hand during another  debate if she believed not only that there was fraud, but enough to impact the outcome of the 2020 election, Dixon reaffirmed her claims that it did.

Even before she launched a bid, Dixon made an online commentating career out of stoking public distrust in the democratic process while anchoring on Real America’s Voice, an extreme online right-wing network.

Dixon “claimed the election was stolen, and took to Twitter multiple times in the months directly following the 2020 general election to cry fraud and theft without providing any basis for these accusations. She has used these sentiments to advocate for voter ID even though it is already state law and limits absentee ballots.

Part of her extensive efforts to shoulder this baseless crusade, Dixon has thoroughly rejected the Republican-led Senate Oversight Committee’s 55-page report definitively stating that there was “no evidence of widespread or systematic fraud.” During an appearance on Off the Record, Dixon got in a heated back and forth with the rest of the panel, arguing that they were “misleading [their] viewers” by simply explaining the reports findings that there was no evidence of fraud.

MDP spokesperson Rodericka Applewhaite issued the following statement:

“Tudor Dixon has been a dyed-in-the-wool election conspiracy theorist since day one, embracing any and all outlandish claims in order to reverse results that have been verified in Michigan. Working families know better than to let Dixon use these lies to justify her dangerous agenda to eliminate reproductive freedom, decimate public education, and gut billions from critical services like law enforcement and infrastructure.”
