After President Biden’s appearance at General Motors’ brand new electric vehicle assembly plant Factory ZERO yesterday, elected officials took to social media to praise the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that will put Michigan at the forefront of electric vehicle creation. This law is going to create thousands of good-paying, union jobs for Michiganders, accelerate the creation of electric vehicles, fight climate change, and invest in communities all across the Great Lakes state — all without raising inflation.
The future of the auto industry is electric and President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law signals to the rest of the world that America can lead and win the race for the 21st century.
Read what the Michigan Congressional delegation are saying about the visit and how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is going to move Michigan forward:
Senator Gary Peters: “Michigan has always been at the forefront of auto innovation. Thanks to the bipartisan infrastructure law—and the best workers in the world—Michigan will remain a manufacturing powerhouse for generations to come.”
Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence: “It was great to have @POTUS in MI yesterday to celebrate the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. We’re creating millions of good-paying jobs with investments in clean water, electric vehicles, broadband, roads, and bridges. This is how we will #BuildBackBetter.”
Congresswoman Debbie Dingell: “Welcome back to Michigan, @POTUS! Michigan put the world on wheels & now we’re leading the world in mobility – & we’re going to keep it that way with the bipartisan infrastructure package & #BuildBackBetter Act as we build the electric vehicles of the future right here at home!”
Congressman Dan Kildee: “At @GM’s Factory ZERO with @POTUS to showcase the hard work & ingenuity of Michigan workers. The future of the automotive industry is electric! Union-made electric vehicles = good-paying Michigan jobs!”
Congressman Andy Levin: “.@potus Biden is knitting together the infrastructure bill he signed Monday with the Build Back Better Act we will pass later this week. And talking up unions and the uber wealthy and big corporations paying their fair share. Let’s go!”
Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib: “Here for the @POTUS visit at the GM plant to help push for #BuildBackBetter. The charging stations in BIF are a start, but not going to get cars off the line. BBB has the $12,500 tax credits for electric vehicles made by @uaw workers. Let’s close the deal and get BBB done.”
