Michiganders’ rejection of Trump and his MAGA extremism was plainly apparent after his weekend visit
LANSING — This week, Michigan Dems were honoring Juneteenth and holding Trump and his MAGA syndicate accountable for their unpopular extremist agenda after Trump’s flashy visit to Detroit this past weekend.
With every far-right position Trump takes, it gets clearer and clearer that his policies simply don’t hold water with Michiganders. He didn’t deliver for Michiganders in his first term, and, no matter what lies he tells, we know that it would be the same trail of broken promises all over again.
Thankfully, Michigan Dems have remained steadfastly dedicated to keeping our heads down and doing the work that matters – delivering for Michiganders and their families.

First, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes spread the word about Trump’s hateful agenda and the threats he poses to Michganders’ fundamental rights. While he was busy putting on a flashy show to pretend he cares about Black Americans, Chair Barnes was reminding everyone of the truth: Donald Trump is a charlatan who has no business being anywhere near the presidency:

- Lavora Barnes, chairwoman of the Michigan Democratic Party, said Trump was back in Michigan “to lie to Michiganders about his record.”
- “While Joe Biden and Democrats have been focused on lowering costs for working families, Republicans will spend the weekend spiraling about conspiracy theories in a race to the bottom,” Barnes said.

Next up for the week, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes celebrated Juneteenth, honoring the impact of Black Americans and their history while also reminding people that the fight for freedom is not yet won:
“This Juneteenth, I am so proud to celebrate the freedom, culture, and empowerment of Black people here in Michigan and across the country. This year, we are also reminded of the stakes of this election for our community at every level of the ballot.
“Michigan Democrats have invested billions in Black communities, enshrined voting protections into law, and pushed back against Trump’s MAGA agenda that would drag our state into the past.
“Still, we know that the fight is far from over — with MAGA attacks on voting rights, civil rights, and job creation, Black Michiganders and their families still face far too many attacks every single day. So much of the progress Democrats have made could be undone this November if Trump and his MAGA MIGOP win, and Michigan Dems are committed to fighting for Black Americans and their families every step of the way.”
