Nesbitt said “Trump was right about everything” when asked whether he disagreed with any of the president’s policies
LANSING — At last night’s Republican gubernatorial primary debate, Aric Nesbitt couldn’t name one issue that he disagrees with Donald Trump on—causing the conservative moderator to chide him and say “Alright, it’s not Jesus Christ, it’s President Trump. Let’s find something we disagree on.”

Conservative moderator Dave Bondy asked each candidate: “On what policy issue or issues do you disagree with President Trump on?”
Mike Cox filibustered and attempted to deflect the question, but when pushed, didn’t mention Trump’s cuts to health care or cost-raising budget law. Tom Leonard also didn’t mention any of Trump’s policies that are crushing working families.
But when it was Aric Nesbitt’s turn, he brought up signs outside the event that say “Trump was right about everything” before expressing how proud he was to be at Trump’s rally in Macomb County earlier this year. Nesbitt ended by saying how he’ll “proudly stand with President Trump” and the “Trump/Vance/Nesbitt administration.” Nesbit couldn’t name a single issue.
It comes as each of the Republican candidates for governor embraced Trump during the previous primary debate, and they’ve all lined up in support of Trump’s toxic tax law that has gutted Medicaid and is raising costs.
“Michiganders are struggling to make ends meet and losing their health insurance because of Donald Trump’s disastrous policies, but Aric Nesbitt couldn’t name one issue that he disagrees with Trump on,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Derrick Honeyman. “This should be a simple answer, but the fact that Nesbitt stumbled through it and couldn’t call out a single one of Trump’s disastrous policies shows just how extreme and unfit he is to lead Michigan.”
