LANSING– A new report highlights Donald Trump’s latest broken promise to Michigan voters, as his budget omits funding for a dam preventing the invasion of Asian carp into the Great Lakes.
The news comes less than two weeks after Trump promised to keep the invasive species out of the Great Lakes during a Warren rally. The president has also proposed devastating cuts to the EPA, including slashing programs dedicated to environmental clean up and cutting clean water grants to low-income communities.
“While Asian carp threaten the Great Lakes, Donald Trump has done nothing but offer lip service and empty words,” said MDP spokesman Christian Slater. “This president is all talk and no action as he breaks promise after promise to Michigan voters.”
