LANSING — “GOP Congressman Paul Mitchell is wasting the court’s time with filing a lawsuit against Governor Whitmer. This is merely a political stunt meant to distract from the real business at hand. He is capping off his unremarkable career as a lawmaker with the crown jewel of partisanship and is a shining example of how the GOP is failing the people of Michigan.
Rep. Mitchell should focus his attention on helping Michiganders right now– creating economic relief for small businesses, ensuring access to health care for all, providing financial support to our hospitals, and supporting frontline workers with whatever they need including proper safety equipment and access to COVID-19 testing.
To the contrary, Governor Whitmer has been and continues to be focused on protecting the health of all of us. She is working closely with health experts, economic advisers, and lawmakers to ensure that as we get back to work it is happening in a safe, thoughtful way.”
