LANSING — In response to Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem’s visit to Detroit today, where she was joined by John James, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Curtis Hertel released the following statement:
“Let’s be clear, this trip is a distraction from the fact that John James and Republicans are trying to rip away health care from hundreds of thousands of Michiganders to pay for tax breaks for billionaires and another plane for Noem to not do her job in. Trump and his Republican goons are hoping Michiganders won’t notice that they’re being robbed blind, but it will not work. This administration has no real solutions, and Republicans like John James that follow their lead are abandoning working families at every turn.”
