LANSING — Today, the Republican National Committee filed a baseless lawsuit against Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson about Michigan voter rolls. In response, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes released the following statement:
“This lawsuit proves that Republicans will do everything in their power to attack our electoral process and leave our democracy destroyed in their wake. This is their playbook: sow doubt and throw our elections into chaos.
“We will not be fooled by their game – Democrats have made Michigan an example for the nation on how to run free and fair elections that allow all voices to be heard. Let’s be clear, Republicans know that their MAGA extremism doesn’t line up with the values of Michiganders and would rather tear down our institutions than listen to voters on the issues that matter most to them.”
