In tonight’s debate, Trump painted a picture of a future of total MAGA control while VP Harris showed a vision of a freer, fairer future
LANSING — In the first presidential debate since becoming the nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris stood for the people, and as she always has, stood for working Michiganders against Trump’s Project 2025 agenda that threatens our families, our rights, and our very democracy. With the debate’s conclusion, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes released the following statement:
“Tonight’s debate exemplified what’s at stake this year: do we want a future with more freedoms or do we want a future with MAGA control over every aspect of our lives? This debate made it clear, in Trump’s America, Michigan families could be forced to live under a national abortion ban, pay nearly $4,000 more every year in taxes, and watch our democracy be ripped away from us.
“Vice President Harris inspired countless Michiganders tonight and made it clear to Americans that she will put us and our families first. With VP Harris as president, greedy corporations will be held accountable for raising prices, women will have the right to make their own health care decisions, and manufacturing will continue to boom here in Michigan. This November, I am confident that we will deliver Michigan for Vice President Kamala Harris and once again reject Donald Trump’s MAGA Project 2025 agenda.”
