LANSING — In response to House Republicans moving forward with their disastrous budget reconciliation bill that puts Michigan families last, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Curtis Hertel released the following statement:
“Today, House Republicans left Michigan’s working families behind while they cater to Elon Musk and their ultra-wealthy backers. This disastrous, Trump-endorsed reconciliation bill is the epitome of greed and will rip away health care from Michiganders and make life harder for the constituents these Republicans were elected to protect.
“Trump is attempting to take money out of Michiganders’ pockets in order to give out massive tax handouts to his billionaire backers. I’m proud that our Democratic members of Congress from Michigan voted against this attack on working families, and I will stand with them as we hold Republicans accountable for this economically disastrous bill.”
