Following the radical and chaotic Republican gubernatorial field’s sixth primary debate, MDP Chair Lavora Barnes issued the following statement:
“Republican candidates for governor showed more of the same extremism and a refusal to balance budgets, work across the aisle, and put money back in the pockets of Michiganders. This embarrassing debate comes a day after Governor Whitmer signed a bipartisan education budget that makes the largest per-student investment in Michigan history and secures unmatched improvements for children and parents, and she will continue to fight for Michigan families.”
