LANSING — Ahead of his campaign event with JD Vance, Mike Rogers doubled down on supporting Trump’s reckless trade war with Canada, which will raise costs and kill jobs in Michigan:

• SHOT: Rogers justified Trump’s latest trade war with Michigan’s largest trading partner, telling Fox News this morning “the Canadians have not been good partners” to the United States.

• CHASER: New reporting from The Detroit News reveals that Trump’s trade war with Canada could “hit Michigan manufacturing,” which is “is especially vulnerable to import taxes” on “iron, steel, [and] aluminum.”

“Mike Rogers is Trump’s rubber stamp, championing a reckless trade war with Canada that is spiking costs for Michigan families and hitting Michigan manufacturing,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Joey Hannum. “By campaigning alongside JD Vance today, Rogers is doubling down on Trump’s price-hiking agenda—and Michigan’s economy is paying the price. Michiganders will reject Price Hike Mike and his failed policies this November.”
