The Michigan Democratic Party released the following statement on behalf of Chair Lavora Barnes regarding the voter suppression bills voted on today in the House of Representatives.
LANSING — “The Republican members of the Michigan House of Representatives should be ashamed of their votes tonight. I am disgusted by the elected officials that purposefully created more barriers to voting just because they didn’t like the outcome of the 2020 elections. Tonight the Republican-led legislature set us back decades – decades of fighting for the right to vote.”
