Reps. Dingell and Lawrence Join Michigan Democratic Party to Celebrate President Biden’s First Year in Office

Earlier today, Michigan Congresswomen Debbie Dingell and Brenda Lawrence joined the Michigan Democratic Party to celebrate the first year of the Biden-Harris administration and to highlight President Biden’s many achievements over the last 365 days.

From putting checks in pockets and getting shots in arms, to finally being able to celebrate a real infrastructure week thanks to passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Reps. Dingell and Lawrence detailed exactly how President Biden has delivered for Michiganders in every corner of the state.

Here’s what they had to say about the Biden-Harris administration’s successes over the past year:

Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence:

  • “Did you as a business receive a Restaurant Revitalization Loan? Did you as a parent of a child receive the Child Tax Credit that allowed you to navigate through the pandemic? Did you receive a vaccination without any charge? That was the leadership and the transformational policies of the Biden administration.”
  • “In this one year that I’ve been serving with President Biden and Vice President Harris, our entire country has seen incredible progress: We got shots in arms, checks in pockets of families, and made sure that all Americans were given opportunities.”
  • “I can rest at night knowing that Michigan is literally fixing the roads, the bridges, and replacing lead pipes, investing in electric vehicles, and expanding access to broadband.”

Congresswoman Debbie Dingell:

  • “The administration and Democrats in Congress are delivering for the people, and we have no intention of stopping now.”
  • “Michigan plays a very important role in this country… We are going to be working our hearts and souls out for people to know what’s at stake in this next election. Most of the Republicans in our delegation did not vote for the infrastructure bill. They did not support fixing our roads and bridges, they did not support getting high speed internet to our communities, they did not support getting the lead out of our water.”
  • “We’re fixing our damn roads. We’re replacing the lead pipes. Flint showed the country what we needed to do and we led that effort for the whole country.”
  • “We’re making sure we stay at the forefront of innovation and technology by building electric vehicles here in Michigan and we’re going to do that through the largest investment in our nation’s power grid, electric vehicle chargers, clean water, and climate resilience.”
