LANSING — Mike Rogers can’t run away from his toxic plans to slash Social Security and Medicare. Rogers wants to slash Social Security and transform Medicare into a voucher program, which would rip away benefits Michiganders worked a lifetime to earn and spike health care costs.
“Mike Rogers wants to slash Social Security and Medicare which would rip away benefits that Michiganders have worked a lifetime to earn. It’s clear that Rogers is only in this race to enrich himself while Michiganders pay the price,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Sam Chan.
What to know about Mike Rogers’ toxic agenda that puts Michigan seniors last:
- Rogers stated that “the federal government should ‘rethink what retirement looks like’ and also suggested that the retirement age may need to be increased.”
- Rogers voted for a federal budget plan that would have caused seniors to “spend more out-of-pocket on healthcare expenses.”
- Rogers voted for legislation to “limit prescription drug benefits for Medicare recipients.”
