LANSING — As Trump-backed candidate John James complains about high gas prices caused by the Iran War that he voted for six different times, James has done absolutely nothing in Congress to bring down gas prices—either by voting to end the war or suspending the federal gas tax.
“John James and Donald Trump are responsible for the high gas and diesel prices that Michigan families are paying. James voted for this war, he’s defended this war, and he’s done absolutely nothing in Congress to end this war or provide relief at the pump,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Derrick Honeyman. “If John James was serious about lowering gas prices, he could have voted to end this war, but he sides with Trump instead. These high prices land squarely at James’ feet, and his feign outrage now is nothing but a political stunt as his poll numbers continue to sink.”
Today, Bridge Michigan reported that James “had supported the war” and “voted against war powers resolutions to end the conflict.”
James recently dismissed the high gas prices caused by Trump and the Iran War in an interview with WWJ, and James has voted six times against ending the Iran War, including less than two weeks ago:
