LANSING — Another week of the chaotic Michigan GOP Senate primary, another week of Republicans putting each other on blast. This “aggressive” and “radioactive” intra-party fight will leave Republicans with a nominee who is badly damaged and out of touch with Michigan families.
Here’s the latest on the “clash” between Michigan Republicans:
- Nikki Snyder took aim at “deep state” politician Mike Rogers and whacked him for voting for the Patriot Act.
- Michigan Republican Michael Farage didn’t mince words, telling fellow Republicans that if they vote for Rogers, Meijer, Craig, or Pensler, “you have the kind of government you deserve.”
- Farage didn’t stop there, bashing Meijer for canceling on the debate with less than 24 hours’ notice and his Trump impeachment vote, Rogers on his Patriot Act vote, and Pensler for being inaccessible to voters.
See for yourself:
Nikki Snyder: “We need to dismantle the deep state… The deep state is… candidates like those who didn’t show up tonight and voted for the Patriot Act. And they’re using it against you… Don’t vote for someone who’s going to continue to take away your freedom.”
Michael Farage: “If you vote for any candidate that is not up here [Rogers, Meijer, Craig, and Pensler], you have the kind of government you deserve. One candidate simply did not want to address the fact that he voted as an elected official to impeach Trump. The other did not want to answer about the Patriot Act or where his wife was in Benghazi. That’s the reason they didn’t show.”
Michael Farage: “It probably was less than 24 hours… ago that Peter Meijer canceled… It wasn’t even him [that called]… We went to his event and he committed.”
Michael Farage: “There is another candidate who did not, Sandy Pensler, who was in the race but he makes himself very unaccessible. Getting access to him, it’s almost as if he’s the president.”
