RELEASE: REMINDER: Mike Rogers Sold Out Michigan to Enrich Himself and Backs Trade Deals that “Workers Found Harmful to Domestic Manufacturing”

Mike Rogers is only focused on enriching himself while Michiganders pay the price

LANSING — As Mike Rogers takes the stage today, he won’t be able to run away from his toxic record of selling out Michigan and our national security to enrich himself at Michiganders’ expense, supporting “trade deals which many workers found harmful to domestic manufacturing during his tenure,” and backing tax giveaways that slash taxes for billionaires but does nothing for Michigan working families.

“Mike Rogers has shown that he will do anything to enrich himself, even when it hurts working families. Rogers’ record is clear – he’s only in this race for himself and his wealthy special interest backers while Michiganders pay the price,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Sam Chan.

Here’s what you need to know about Mike Rogers’ toxic record:

  • Rogers has renewed his calls to reinstate the Trump corporate tax giveaway which would enrich the wealthy few like himself and big corporations while hurting working Michiganders. The Trump corporate tax giveaway bill helped billionaires pay less taxes than the working class in 2018. People with the highest income reaped most of the benefits from the legislation.
