Out-of-Touch Millionaire Kevin Rinke is PAST DUE on 2021 Tax Return Disclosure, Other Answers Owed to Michigan Working Families

In response to out-of-touch millionaire Kevin Rinke joining the rest of the crowded field in refusing to disclose his 2021 tax returns, MDP is taking the week to remind Michiganders that this is only the latest issue gubernatorial Republicans are rejecting transparency on.

Rinke is trying and failing to convince working families that his tax returns are “irrelevant.”

MDP is renewing its Sunshine Week call for Kevin Rinke to disclose his tax returns and personal financial information, which Governor Whitmer has voluntarily done annually since she was a candidate in 2018. Michigan working families deserve answers on whose interests the wrong-for-Michigan candidates are angling to protect.

MDP spokesperson Rodericka Applewhaite issued the following statement:

“Out-of-touch millionaire and seedy Toyota salesman Kevin Rinke can’t even manage to call for transparency without criticizing accountability measures like financial disclosures in the same breath. For months Rinke has been asked about his plans to release personal financial information, disclose what boards he sits on, and how much he’s paid out to victims of his toxic workplace behavior, but has chosen to keep Michiganders in the dark.”

As a reminder, Rinke has fundraised off his hollow claim that “government should serve the people, not the other way around,” only to then pan these measures that are standard for elected officials and candidates in nearly every other state as “cynical.”
