NEW: MDP Releases Digital Video Marking One Year Of John James’ Campaign Hiding From Michiganders

Today, ahead of the one year anniversary of failed politician John James launching his campaign, the Michigan Democratic Party is releasing a new digital video, titled “One Year of Hiding,” highlighting James’ record of hiding from Michiganders and trying to paper over his out-of-touch agenda. The video features example after example of how James has prioritized cozying up with donors and avoiding Michigan press, while Senator Gary Peters fights to put the Great Lakes state first.

In the year since announcing his bid, James has spent more time out of state fundraising and on Fox News than speaking directly to Michigan press. While hiding from Michiganders, James has refused to answer for his rigid positions, including vowing to take away Michiganders’ health care and being “all for” the Trump agenda.

With 151 days until election day, the video also demonstrates the clear contrast in the race, as Peters has led the charge to deliver results for Michigan, working across the aisle to pass 11 bipartisan bills to help veterans, working families and small businesses.

“John James has spent the first year of his campaign hiding from Michiganders and refusing to answer questions on his ‘2000%’ support for Trump and extreme positions that are bad for working families,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Michiganders deserve an independent voice in the Senate who will work across the aisle, not someone who will spend his time hiding and be a rubber stamp for Washington Republicans.”
