NEW: In Latest Example of Her Commitment to Ban Abortion With “No Exceptions,” Anti-Choice Extremist Tudor Dixon Just Secured Support from Extremist Susan B. Anthony List

Today, Susan B. Anthony List, a dark money anti-choice group with a mission to explicitly “end abortion,” threw their support behind Tudor Dixon’s gubernatorial campaign. Susan B. Anthony List opposes rape and incest exceptions, which their president called “abominable.” The group opposes IUDs and Plan B – in addition to same-sex marriage. They also have promoted the dangerous lie that abortion is “never medically necessary” to save the life of the mother. They previously launched a $200,000 digital ad campaign against Governor Whitmer for being a staunch defender of abortion rights.

It should come as no surprise that anti-choice activists are lining up behind Dixon, who has already been endorsed by Right to Life Michigan.

Her anti-choice extremism knows no bounds. A staunch supporter of the currently dormant 1931 abortion ban that criminalizes abortion, makes felons out of reproductive health care providers and provides no exceptions for rape or incest, Dixon has plainly stated that she is against all exceptions to abortion, even in cases or rape and incest, or when the health of the mother is at risk. Referring to the 1931 ban as a “good law,” Dixon has also committed to support any new anti-choice legislation that comes across her desk as governor without regard for rape or incest exceptions.

And when the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Dixon issued a lengthy statement applauding the outcome and further reinforcing her crusade to ban abortions. She also maintained that pregnancy should be forced on women regardless of if it was the result of an “awful circumstance.”

No stranger to manufacturing unhinged conspiracy theories, Dixon also recently got caught claiming that Planned Parenthood has employed a “business model” to “introduce sex” to “7th graders” so they can profit off of “plenty of abortions in high school” – a baseless claim which she of course failed to offer any evidence backing it up.

MDP spokesperson Rodericka Applewhaite issued the following statement:

“The most surprising thing about this endorsement is that Susan B. Anthony List didn’t opt to just throw their support behind all five gubernatorial Republicans, as all have made full-throated pledges to eliminate reproductive freedom for millions of Michigan women and families with virtually no exceptions. Tudor Dixon’s anti-choice extremism might have earned her another special interest check, but Michiganders deserve better than someone who pushes a radical agenda that puts lives at risk.”
