LANSING — Today, Michigan Democrats continued to deliver for working families with the passage of a new state budget that will lower costs and protect health care. Michigan Democratic Party Chair Curtis Hertel released the following statement:
“Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks, House Democratic Leader Ranjeev Puri, and legislative Democrats once again delivered a balanced, bipartisan budget that lowers costs, increases access to affordable housing, and continues to strengthen our infrastructure. It couldn’t come at a more important time — ahead of the anniversary of Republicans’ billionaire bailout budget that slashed affordable health care and food security programs, Democrats made sure our state budget protected working Michiganders.”
