LANSING– The Michigan Democratic Party released the following statement on behalf of Chair Lavora Barnes on the tens of millions of dollars Donald Trump owes China:
“Time and again Donald Trump has gone easy on China, flattering President Xi, giving in on trade deals, and praising their government’s mismanaged COVID-19 response. Now we know why: this president is owned by China to the tune of tens of millions of dollars, and soon the bill is due. This is a devastating conflict of interest from a president who has been rolled over on the international stage as he refuses to stand up for the American people. We need a president who will fight for American working families instead of putting their own financial interests first.”
