LANSING– The Michigan Democratic Party released the following statement on behalf of spokesman Christian Slater on Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue’s Detroit event:
“Donald Trump and Mike Pence have been a disaster for Michigan farmers, repeatedly breaking their promises as they got rolled by China while losing trade wars they started, threatened farmers’ livelihoods, and failed to contain the spread of a global pandemic. Now, Sonny Perdue is coming to our state in a desperate attempt to cover for their failures after mocking farmers as ‘whiners.’ Cheap handouts and empty words can’t undo the damage done by Donald Trump’s failed leadership.”
