The Michigan Democratic Party released the following statement on behalf of spokesman Christian Slater on the latest Michigan unemployment numbers:
“At every turn, Donald Trump has failed at his response to COVID-19, this jobs report is just further proof. After denying and downplaying the severity of this public health crisis, Trump has allowed our economy to tank and Michigan’s unemployment rate to double. Now, as we continue to suffer from Great Recession levels of unemployment in our state, Trump refuses to lift a finger to help working Michiganders. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the only candidates in this race who can contain this pandemic and get our state back on track.”
