The Michigan Democratic Party released the following statement on behalf of Chair Lavora Barnes regarding the 100 days left until the November elections:
“For over three years, the Michigan Democratic Party has been organizing in communities across our state and building a field team to take on Donald Trump. Now, with 100 days left until the November election, we’re building on our successes to send Joe Biden to the White House, Gary Peters back to the Senate, and elect Democrats up and down the ballot. This weekend showed we’re ready –– our One Campaign team held over 100 events in Michigan and engaged tens of thousands of voters across the state.
Michigan has suffered under Donald Trump as he broke his promises to expand health care, grow manufacturing, and build a better economy for our workers. While his ineffective COVID-19 response continues to devastate families across Michigan, we are now facing a historic recession as he callously strips away unemployment benefits and fails to deliver critical aid to our state. We need a president like Joe Biden who will put working families before special interests and the rich, and build our state back better than ever before.”
