LANSING—The Michigan Democratic Party issued the following statement today on behalf of MDP Chair Lavora Barnes ahead of Donald Trump’s campaign relaunch:
“It’s clear: Donald Trump lied to Michigan. He lied about protecting people with pre-existing conditions, about his support for the Great Lakes, about bringing back auto jobs, and about the financial relief working families would see from his Republican tax scam. While hardworking families struggle to make ends meet with stagnant wages, outsourced jobs, and skyrocketing health care costs, Trump is tweeting lies, siding with dictators, and working for the rich and powerful as our workers get left behind. Michiganders are sick and tired of it, and they are no longer crossing their fingers hoping he comes through because they know he’s been double-crossing American workers from day one. He may be relaunching his campaign today in Florida, but here in Michigan, we can’t afford four more years of the same broken promises from Donald Trump. We look forward to voting him out next November and working every day from now until then to get it done.”
