LANSING—The Michigan Democratic Party issued the following statement today on behalf of MDP Chair Lavora Barnes in response to the Flint prosecution team’s dismissal of all Flint criminal cases without prejudice:
“We applaud Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and her team for putting the truth and justice for the people of Flint over partisan debate and political expediency. The public deserves a comprehensive accounting of the facts and a full reckoning when it comes to why Flint’s water was poisoned and who is responsible. The only way we achieve both is through an unfettered, unbiased, and thorough investigation, and that is exactly what Attorney General Dana Nessel will deliver when she is done.”
