Michigan Democratic Party Launches Ad Program to Hold House Republicans Accountable for Budget Cuts to Police and Health Care

New ads warn of House GOP cutting health care and the state police while billionaires thrive.

LANSING — Today, the Michigan Democratic Party is launching new TV, streaming, and digital ads to inform voters and highlight the state representatives who backed the extreme House Republican budget proposal that drastically cuts funding for health care and the state police.

“House Republicans passed a budget that defunds the police, strips health care from mothers and children, and abandons victims of violent crime,” said Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Curtis Hertel. “It’s reckless, dangerous, and an attack on working families. We will ensure Republicans’ constituents know that they are prioritizing politics over Michiganders.”

“Republicans followed Matt Hall’s extreme agenda and voted for a budget that undermines schools, families, and public safety,” said House Democratic Leader Ranjeev Puri (D-Canton). “Any one of these members could have stood up for their community, but they didn’t. House Democrats will make sure voters understand how reckless Republican leadership is for Michigan’s future.”

The program includes a digital ad campaign to reach tens of thousands of voters. The message is simple: House Republicans are cutting what families need most. At a time when families are struggling and the wealthy have never had it better, House Republicans are choosing to slash police and health care instead of asking the rich to pay their fair share.

The following Republicans are included in the program that begins today and targets tens of thousands of registered Michigan voters in their respective districts, see the ads linked below:
