DETROIT — Michigan Democratic Party Chair Curtis Hertel released the following statement tonight after State Senator Sean McCann won the Democratic primary in Michigan’s 4th Congressional District:
“Sean McCann gets things done — he’s helped write balanced budgets, expanded health care access, and passed one of the most ambitious clean energy standards in the country. Meanwhile, Bill Huizenga has had fifteen years in Washington voting with special interests and billionaires at our expense. Michiganders can’t afford to keep Rep. Huizenga in Washington, and this district is one of our best chances in the country to flip a seat and send a fighter for Michigan to Congress. Democrats are all in for Sean, and we’re going to make sure every voter in the 4th District knows exactly what’s at stake.”
