LANSING–The Michigan Democratic Party released the following statement on behalf of Chair Lavora Barnes regarding Donald Trump’s effort to distract from his broken promises on Medicare and his attacks on access to affordable care:
“Time and time again, Donald Trump has broken his promise to protect health care for Michigan working families. His latest plan represents nothing but more lip service from a president who has repeatedly sided with big corporations, special interest groups, and his wealthy friends over everyday people as he jeopardized health care for 720,000 Michiganders. This president has fought to slash Medicare, sabotaged the Affordable Care Act at every turn, and sent health care costs skyrocketing. Michigan voters deserve real action, not more empty words from a president desperate to distract from his failures.”
