MDP Chair Lavora Barnes Highlights Party’s GOTV Program in Statewide Weekend Swing

LANSING– With one year until the 2020 elections, MDP Chair Lavora Barnes traveled throughout the state this weekend to highlight the importance of getting out the vote in 2019, 2020 and beyond. At the stops, Chair Barnes met with activists and spoke with voters encouraging them to get involved in 2020, hold Donald Trump accountable for his broken promises, and turn Michigan blue in every corner of the state.

On Saturday, Chair Barnes made stops in Detroit, Flint, and Mount Pleasant to speak with GOTV activists, actress Kerry Washington, and the Isabella County Democratic Party.

On Sunday, Chair Barnes joined the Ottawa County Democratic Party and the Kent County Democratic Party,  including State Senator Winnie Brinks and County Commissioners Stephen Wooden and Robert Womack, for GOTV phone banks.
