LANSING — The Michigan Democratic Party released the following statement on behalf of Chair Lavora Barnes on the hate filled Facebook group whose members included state Sen. Peter Lucido, three Republican congressional candidates and a Michigan Republican Party senior staffer:
“This hate-filled, violent language is disgusting and should have no place in our society, much less our politics, but a Republican elected official, candidates and a party senior staff member apparently feel comfortable participating in a group promoting it. The Michigan Republican Party, along with the members involved in this vile group must denounce this violent rhetoric they are responsible for condoning.”
