Known and Charged Insurrectionist Ryan Kelley is PAST DUE on 2021 Tax Return Disclosure, Other Answers Owed to Michigan Working Families

In response to known and charged insurrectionist Ryan Kelley joining the rest of the crowded field in refusing to disclose his 2021 tax returns, MDP is reminding Michiganders that this is only the latest issue gubernatorial Republicans are refusing transparency on.

MDP is renewing its Sunshine Week call for Kelley to disclose his tax returns, which Governor Whitmer has voluntarily done annually since she was a candidate in 2018. Michigan working families deserve answers on whose interests the wrong-for-Michigan candidates are angling to protect.

Last week, Kelley indicated that he “planned to release [his] tax returns,” but then “never followed through.”

MDP spokesperson Rodericka Applewhaite issued the following statement:

“For insurrectionist Ryan Kelley, there’s really no stoop too low after participating in a violent display against our democracy. It shouldn’t surprise working families that he said one thing and is doing another while he refuses to be transparent on both his tax returns and his shady legal defense fund. Michiganders deserve accountable leadership.”

As a reminder, Ryan Kelley pleaded not guilty before a federal judge on all four of the criminal charges levied against him, then raised nearly half his $50,000 goal for his legal defense fund, dollars from unverifiable sources that will assuredly be exhausted without a shred of oversight.
