LANSING — In case you missed it, congressional Republicans have been running scared from hundreds of constituents across Michigan who have been protesting their offices and town halls over Trump and Musk’s agenda, including cutting Medicaid just to bankroll tax breaks for billionaires. Over the past couple weeks, Michiganders have been making their voices heard at their Republican representatives’ offices, and for Representatives Huizinga, Barrett, and James, it’s not looking good.
In the past few weeks, Trump has thrown Michigan’s public schools, veterans’ affairs, and economy into chaos with his extremist agenda — and Michiganders aren’t happy about it. For Republicans like Representative Bill Huizinga, their complete support for Trump’s agenda has brought angry constituents to their doorsteps. For Republicans like Representative Tom Barrett and John James, they’ve been too scared to even hold a town hall, refusing to hear from the people who elected them.
Make no mistake, they know what they’re doing, and they know that Trump’s agenda is going to hurt Michigan, so now it’s time they face the music. Michiganders deserve to be heard by their elected officials, and if these Republicans continue to hide, the voters will be sure to show them the door next November.
