Donald Trump’s War on Clean Energy Hurts Michigan Workers
By Jeannette Bradshaw, Secretary/Treasurer Metro Detroit AFL-CIO
- Unfortunately, President Donald Trump has failed us. Instead of betting on Michigan workers, he has launched an all-out attack on our environment — costing us jobs in the process.
- Instead of investing in Michigan’s workers and ensuring Motor City’s rightful place as the global center for the next generation of automobiles, President Trump has personally attempted to eliminate a popular program to make electric vehicles more affordable and cut federal investment in EV battery technology.
- This November, Michigan has a choice. A choice between a president who stands in the way of progress and against Michigan workers, or his challenger, Joe Biden, who is dedicated to investing in the green economy and America’s workers.
“Donald Trump has launched an all-out assault on clean energy and electric vehicles, fighting at every turn to slash critical programs that create jobs and build a sustainable energy future for our country,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesman Christian Slater. “Dan Brouillette can spin all he wants, but there’s no denying that Donald Trump’s war on clean energy has left our state behind. Michigan working families need a president like Joe Biden who will invest in rebuilding the middle class and making Michigan a leader in building the electric vehicles of the future.”
