ICYMI: Detroit Free Press: “Dems Have Passed a Lot of Bills”

LANSING — Yesterday, the front page of the Detroit Free Press highlighted the long list of major Democratic win from the first six-months of the legislative session – the first time Democrats have had control of every branch of government in the past 40 years. From common sense gun safety reform, abortion protections, workers’ rights, and more, Democrats have spent the last six months passing landmark legislation to improve the lives of Michiganders across the state.

With their front page feature, The Free Press, reminds Michiganders that these key priorities had previously died when the legislature was under GOP control, but in our new era of Democratic leadership, they have not only passed but often enjoyed bipartisan support. Thanks to the unity and leadership of the Democratic Party, the Michigan state legislature has lowered costs for Michigan families, protected reproductive rights, expanded civil rights protections for LGBTQ+ and Black Michiganders.
