LANSING — Michigan House Republicans are proposing disastrous cuts to the State Police in their budget proposal, which includes cutting more than $66 million in law enforcement funding and eliminating more than 400 positions.

With House Republicans proposing to defund state police, do the Republican candidates for governor — John James, Aric Nesbitt, Tom Leonard, Mike Cox, and Karla Wagner — support these extreme cuts?

House Republicans want to defund the State Police and make our communities and roads less safe — but Michiganders deserve to know if the Republican candidates for governor support these extreme cuts to law enforcement.
