The Michigan Democratic Party released the following statement on behalf of Chair Lavora Barnes on Senate candidate John James’ broken promises. The statement comes as a new report revealed that James lied to voters about creating Michigan jobs and his company took nearly $2 million in tax breaks under his tenure but failed to create the 108 jobs he promised and instead cut jobs:
“If John James can’t deliver on the promises he made to Michigan taxpayers to create jobs, how can Michigan trust James to keep his promises to voters? Michigan families have too much at stake in this election, from rebuilding the economy to protecting health care, and deserve better than a failed politician who will lie about his record and say anything to get elected.”
