The Michigan Democratic Party released the following statement on behalf of Chair Lavora Barnes on the fourth plank of Joe Biden’s Build Back Better Plan to build a stronger, resilient, and inclusive economy.
“I’m proud of Joe Biden for releasing a comprehensive plan to help address racial inequality and build a more inclusive economy. By expanding access to opportunity, removing barriers to participate in our economy, and fully enforcing laws we have on the books, I’m confident this plan can help communities of color build back better after Donald Trump’s devastating failures. While he pays lip service to empowering Black and Brown Americans, Trump has done nothing but offer broken promises while spouting empty talking points. Racial inequities were around long before Trump, but he has made them worse with his regressive economic policies and a failed COVID-19 response that has decimated Black and Brown families.”
