ICYMI: Gary Peters Fighting To Strengthen MI Communities Through Community Policing Bill

“We all need to come together in a bipartisan way to put forward meaningful change and meaningful ideas on how we make the criminal justice system work fairly for everybody, no matter who they are, no matter where they live.”

In case you missed it, U.S. Senator Gary Peters introduced a community policing bill to help bridge the lack of trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve and start on the path of reforming our broken criminal justice system. The bipartisan legislation has been endorsed by a broad coalition of groups including the NAACP, the Police Officers Association of Michigan, the Fraternal Order of Police and the National Urban League.

While there is still much more work to be done, Gary continues to bring people together and work in a bipartisan manner to address the racial inequalities in our country and reform our criminal justice system.
