LANSING–– Today marks one year since Donald Trump lied about his failed record on prescription drugs in an attempt to cover for his inaction and broken promises on the critical issue.
The claim was rated “Mostly False,” and came after Trump led an all-out assault on affordable health care for Michigan’s working families, fighting to gut protections for pre-existing conditions, sending costs skyrocketing, and threatening coverage for millions. Now, Trump is continuing to break his promises on prescription drugs, as drugmakers hike prices while the failed president does nothing.
“As prescription drug costs skyrocket, Donald Trump has done nothing for Michigan’s working families but lead attack after attack on their health care and lie about it,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesman Christian Slater. “This failed president has done nothing but break his promises to Michigan voters, and they’re prepared to hold him accountable in November.”
