Chair Barnes welcomes VP Harris back to Detroit for radio town hall with Charlamagne Tha God
LANSING — After Trump disparaged and disrespected Detroit last week, Vice President Kamala Harris is returning to Detroit tonight to discuss her economic agenda for Black men. In stark contrast with Trump’s insults, Harris will speak with radio host Charlamagne Tha God about the issues facing Michiganders.
“Vice President Harris’s opportunity agenda will work to ensure that Black men in Michigan have the opportunity to get ahead and thrive in communities across our state and nation,” said Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes. “Harris is one of us — she is the only candidate who has actually been part of the middle class which is why she is the only candidate working to actually help the middle class in Detroit and beyond.
“Tonight, we will once again see the stark contrast between Kamala Harris, a leader lowering costs for Black Michiganders, and Donald Trump, a convicted felon who will cost Black families an extra $3,900 every year. Since day one, Vice President Harris has been committed to building an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthiest 1% — which is why Detroiters are going to send her back to the White House this November.”
