LANSING — Today, vice presidential candidate and MAGA lackey J.D. Vance will visit Auburn Hills and Marne to lie about workers and businesses in Michigan. Ahead of this stop on his misinformation tour, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes released the following statement:
“J.D. Vance and Donald Trump would be a disaster for manufacturing in Michigan and have nothing but empty promises to offer the workers and industries that form the lifeblood of our economy. Vance’s claims that their Project 2025 agenda will uplift working families are nothing but lies. Luckily, Michiganders know the truth: Project 2025 will cost them thousands every year so Trump can keep lining the pockets of billionaires.
“Today, Vance will ignore Trump’s record of failing workers, breaking promises, and giving billionaires tax cuts at the cost of the middle class. Meanwhile, under Vice President Harris, Michigan is experiencing a manufacturing boom, as she helped create nearly 425,000 jobs, including more than 19,000 in manufacturing. Vance is once again proving that Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz are the only ones who will fight for Michigan’s workers.”
