The Michigan Democratic Party is hiring a Digital Content Associate to create compelling digital content that effectively reaches voters online in the fight for the soul of our nation. The Digital Content Associate will prepare the online content necessary to persuade and mobilize voters in 2024.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create social media content for in-state campaign social media accounts, as well as produces content for allies and supporters to share from their accounts
- Identify engagement opportunities for the campaign on social media
- Capture content at campaign events across Michigan
- Contribute creative content ideas and suggests opportunities for the campaign to reach new online audiences
- Engage the campaign’s online communities and share content for distribution
Required Skills/Experience:
- Strong commitment to Democratic politics and ideals and enthusiasm for electing Joe Biden and Democrats up and down the ballot
- 1+ years of experience working on/in political campaigns, community organizing, government or related fields (ideally in a digital capacity)
- Experience creating social media content and managing social accounts for political campaigns or relevant organizations
- Has an understanding of social media and the digital landscape for political campaigns
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities (with an emphasis on attention to detail)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 1+ years of experience working on/in political campaigns, community organizing, government or related fields (ideally in a digital capacity)
- Photography or video editing experience
This position offers a salary of $5000 per month, includes a full benefits package with health, vision and dental insurance, and is a part of the union.
