Chair Barnes celebrates the candidates chosen by their communities and uplifts the importance of beating extremist Republicans this November
LANSING — Following the results from the August 6th primary, the voters have chosen the Democratic candidates to take back control of the US House and keep the US Senate majority from MAGA Republicans this November. Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes released the following statement celebrating these champions earning spots on the general election ballot:
“I want to congratulate every candidate for running strong campaigns this cycle. These primaries are an important part of the democratic process that allows our voices to be heard. Each of these candidates cares deeply about their community, and I am proud to have a coalition of Democrats who are so dedicated to serving our state in Washington.
“Now, we look forward to winning these seats in November to take back control of the House and protect the Senate from the extremist, MAGA Republicans who have put their far-right agenda ahead of the needs of Michiganders time and time again. Every day from now until November, we will be working to elect Democrats to protect abortion rights, working families, and our democracy from these all too common MAGA attacks.”
