LANSING — As the polls are opening for primary election day, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes released the following statement:
“Today, as voters head to the polls, Michiganders are putting into practice the values of our democracy and making their voices heard. We are so proud that, thanks to Michigan Democrats’ work to expand voting access, over 700,000 ballots have already been cast for this election.
“Voting in the primary will set the tone for the general election, and we look forward to a strong, unified Democratic Party coming together to defeat Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans up and down the ballot this November.”
