ICYMI: On MSNBC, Michigan Dems Chair Highlights Energy for Harris in Michigan and Trump’s Threat to Democracy

Chair Barnes spoke with MSNBC’s Ali Velshi about on-the-ground energy 100 days out from the November election

LANSING — This weekend, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes spoke with MSNBC’s Ali Velshi about how Michiganders are reacting to Biden’s passing of the torch, the stakes of the election, and the party’s ground game to date. As the Chair proudly pointed out, Michigan Dems have built out world-class campaign infrastructure that easily shifted gears upon Biden’s announcement – with 50 coordinated campaign offices open across the state.

Since then, our efforts have only grown. In this past weekend of action, our volunteers got to work, making thousands of texts and working with 5,800 NEW volunteers — work which totaled 150,000 voter contact attempts made.

This energy isn’t just driven by excitement for Vice President Harris, it’s also motivated by the knowledge that another Donald Trump presidency would destroy our democracy and strip us of our fundamental rights. We don’t have to guess — he has openly stated that he would rip apart the very foundations of our democracy to ensure he always wins. We won’t let it happen, and we are working from now until November to ensure Trump never sees the inside of the Oval Office again.
